Course directors Roberto Faenza and Giovambattista Fatelli aim to provide the tools with which to grow new professional talent, experts in “creative writing for the media” with particular focus on video games as a cultural product, to address the structural weakness of the industry in Italy. CINEMASTER in collaboration with AIV ? the Italian video games academy, Rome & Lazio Film Commission, Lazio Regional Authority, and the Regional Directorate for Art, Entertainment, Sport and Young People will present the conference-event Screenplays: cross-media films, video games, and narratives to include the participation of university tutors and professionals from the world of entertainment.

Thirty years after the launch of Ricomincio da tre and seventeen years since Troisi’s sudden death, authors Rosaria Troisi and Lilly Ippoliti, the publisher, Marco Giusti, Gianni Minà and Renato Scarpa who shared with Troisi the adventure of his first film, will retrace the story of the shy boy from San Giorgio a Cremano who resiliently fought his illness and his destiny, from his first steps on the stage with La Smorfia, until the end of his film career.

TRA NOI GIOVANI The meeting TRA NOI GIOVANI to be held on 1 November from 12.00 at DISARONNO Contemporary Terrace, Auditorium Parco della Musica will focus on the film INTERNO GIORNO by Tommaso Rossellini with Fanny Ardant, Kiera Chaplin, Anita Caprioli, Regina Orioli, Brenno Placido, and Massimiliano Buzzanca, and will be dedicated to the analysis of APPROACHES AND COMPLEXITIES IN A FIRST FILM. The director, as well as the cast in Rome and the professionals involved, will present the film.

Three films in the Rome Film Festival programme have had the support of the Rome & Lazio Film Commission.

Il pranzo di Natale, from an idea by Antonietta De Lillo will be presented in the L'altro Cinema Extra - OFF DOC section to be screened at Casa del Cinema, while Appartamento ad Atene and Et in terra pax will be screened at the Centro Culturale Elsa Morante as part of the project Showcase for Young Italian Filmmakers, an initiative sponsored by the Presidency of the Italian Council of Ministers ? Department of Youth.

Appartamento ad Atene directed by Ruggero Dipaola is set in Greece in 1942 and features Laura Morante and Richard Sammel. Et in terra pax is the first work by Matteo Botrugno and Daniele Coluccini, with Maurizio Tesei and Ughetta D’Onorascenzo. Using the language of early Pasolini, it tells the story of denied adolescence and hope betrayed, against the futuristic and at times squalid backdrop of the metropolitan suburbs in the Corviale district of Rome. Lastly, Il pranzo di Natale is a film created from the images produced by professional directors, aspiring filmmakers and “ordinary people”, invited through the internet to express themselves on the collective theme of Christmas festivities, lived as a moment of sharing and celebration, but also of uncontrolled consumerism and loneliness in some cases.
