Three films in the Rome Film Festival programme have had the support of the Rome & Lazio Film Commission.
Il pranzo di Natale, from an idea by Antonietta De Lillo will be presented in the L'altro Cinema Extra - OFF DOC section to be screened at Casa del Cinema, while Appartamento ad Atene and Et in terra pax will be screened at the Centro Culturale Elsa Morante as part of the project Showcase for Young Italian Filmmakers, an initiative sponsored by the Presidency of the Italian Council of Ministers ? Department of Youth.
Appartamento ad Atene directed by Ruggero Dipaola is set in Greece in 1942 and features Laura Morante and Richard Sammel. Et in terra pax is the first work by Matteo Botrugno and Daniele Coluccini, with Maurizio Tesei and Ughetta D’Onorascenzo. Using the language of early Pasolini, it tells the story of denied adolescence and hope betrayed, against the futuristic and at times squalid backdrop of the metropolitan suburbs in the Corviale district of Rome. Lastly, Il pranzo di Natale is a film created from the images produced by professional directors, aspiring filmmakers and “ordinary people”, invited through the internet to express themselves on the collective theme of Christmas festivities, lived as a moment of sharing and celebration, but also of uncontrolled consumerism and loneliness in some cases.
