Viviane Reding, European Commissioner for Information Society and Media has granted European sponsorship to the coproduction meetings of the Capital Regions for Cinema, the film commission network of the capital regions of Roma-Lazio, Berlin-Brandenburg, Paris-Ile de France, and Madrid-Comunidad de Madrid. The size and European spirit of the network have therefore been strengthened by this important sponsorship, which took place after the presentation of the CRC network to the European parliament in Strasbourg last April 25, thanks to the efforts of Lazio Region Office of Culture representative Giulia Rodano and the support of FILAS.
The European Capital Regions for Cinema network was founded in 2005 to promote European coproduction and to unite the resources and creative potential of the various European capital area. It organizes meetings at the Cannes, Berlin, San Sebastian and Rome film festivals for movie producers looking for coproduction partners.
