CRC, Capital Regions for Cinema, the European Network of the Capital Regions of Ile de France, Comunidad de Madrid, Berlin-Brandenburg and the Lazio Region, was officially presented at the 58th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. The inaugural event, which was held on May 13 at the Kodak Pavilion during the Cannes Film Festival Village, was attended by an international host of producers, representative institutions and journalists. The main objective of the CRC network is to facilitate co-productions between the various European actors by easing access to the respective regional funds. The first edition of the CRC Co-production Meetings was held in a dual session of meetings on May 17 and 19 at the ICLUB space at the Noga Hilton Hotel. On May 17, the French and Italian producers presented their projects and discussed possible agreements for starting up co-productions and restoring the splendour of years past to Italian and French cinema, when hundreds of films were co-produced in the two countries. May 19 was dedicated to Italian and Spanish producers, who met and discussed the projects to be brought forward in co-productions.
