The focus of RLFC's participation in the European Film Market at the 60th edition of the 2010 Berlin Festival was co-production development activities.
The CRC Co-production Meetings - now permanent fixtures at the major festivals for producers from Italy, France, Spain and Germany - have seen a steady increase in participation and the fulfilment of co-production projects.
Returning for their 17th edition, the meetings were held at the Brandenburg Vertretung des Landes in Berlin, and involved over 140 production companies. New development opportunities for co-production outside Europe were brought to the table through the attendance of a delegation of Indian producers. Two new co-production projects also emerged:

  • Antoine and Martine de Clermont Tonnerre's French production company MACT, and Alessandro Borrelli's Italian company La Sarraz will co-produce La Sapience, a comedy-drama by Eugenie Green with Bruno Todeschini.
  • Mario Mazzarotto's company Movimento Film, and Bruno Bettati's Jirafa Films, found a Spanish co-producer in Luis Angel Ramirez Perez of Ulysses Film for the Italo-Chilean project "El Futuro".
These results confirm the commitment by the CRC network (Capital Regions for Cinema - Ile de France, Lazio, Comunidad de Madrid and Berlin-Brandenburg) to supporting producers seeking co-productions and to widening co-production opportunities towards emerging or potential markets. The next meetings are planned for May 18 during the Cannes Film Festival, during the San Sebastian Film Festival on September 21, and on October 29 during The Business Street at the 2010 Rome Film Festival.
