More than 120 international organizations participated in the 14th annual coproduction meetings of the Capital Regions for Cinema (CRC), a network of European film commissions, including Ile de France, Lazio, Comunidad de Madrid and Berlin-Brandenburg. This year at Cannes the CRC hosted a presentation of Scandinavian producers from Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Iceland and Norway. Italian production companies in attendance included OFFSIDE with Mario Gianani, producer of Vincere by Marco Bellocchio, the only Italian competing at the Festival; DAP, a leading company in the production of fiction, now also active in movie production; GERTIE, a 3D animation production company; LA SARRAZ, specializing in documentaries; CLASSIC, with Amedeo Pagani; and L’OTTAVA, a production company working on the next film by Franco Battiato. This year’s CRC Coproduction Meetings provided a wonderful opportunity for the diverse audiovisual, animation, documentary and fiction sectors of the movie industry [to get together].

The next CRC coproduction meetings will take place at the San Sebastian Festival in September, and at the next International Film Festival in Rome in October, in collaboration with The Business Street. The Roma & Lazio Film Commission will attend the Rome Festival at the second annual CineCampus, and at other initiatives associated with cinematic and audiovisual training.
